The Team
Who We Are
Tobi Kirschmann
CEO & President
Tobi Kirschmann is a retired DNA Analyst from the California DOJ DNA laboratory. She moved to New York in 2017 and started DNA Investigations in 2020 to bring genetic genealogy education and services to law enforcement and the community.
As part of the fleet of personnel who worked on the Golden State Killer case, Tobi was moved by the ability of genetic genealogy to identify perpetrators and human remains.
In 2023, Tobi turned DNA Investigations into the nonprofit, DNA Finders, to better assist law enforcement in using genetic genealogy to solve open cases.
Tobi is currently a full-time Forensic Science faculty member at Siena College in Loudonville, NY.
Tim Holmes

Virginia Humphrey

While working on a Master’s Degree in Library Science at SUNY Albany, she met her husband, Bernie, and they moved to Saratoga County, New York. Ginny’s career as a public library director led her to the joys and challenges of doing genealogical research for both herself and others for the past 40+ years. The disappearance of her daughter’s friend in 1998, along with the frustrating knowledge that employing advanced DNA techniques can help solve more cases, motivated her to become involved in starting DNA Finders.

She continued to build the family tree back to the early 1600's. She has branched out helping others build their trees and is now devoted to aiding law enforcement in solving cold cases using the genealogical skills she has acquired over the years.
